I love Muppets, Part II

In Part II of my muppet adoration, there's "Girl of the World". While I feel "Women Can Be" addressed the more adult aspirations of women, this song is an anthem for younger women. It is less powerful, but still a good message. What do you think?

I hadn't seen this one before. It is weired to me that this girl-pride anthem mostly celebrates the freedom girls have to do both 'girl things' and 'boy things.' The girl is proud that she can wear fancy party shoes with her soccer jersey - and it is great that gender rules aren't as strict for girls as they used to be and kids are free to explore both roles. The odd part is that we wouldn't have a similar song for boys in which they celebrated being able to both dance ballet and play with toy guns or whatnot. We should though.

Why are all 'human' muppets pink with yellow hair?
